Alright, after much struggle, re-rates have been completed and we're able to move on to the rest of our offseason.
Because of the process changes around re-rates, I want to call a couple things out. This was driven by the shuttering of the CapFriendly website, which we used to determine what a player's contract status was. For technological reasons, CapFriendly has been replaced by The Stanley Cap.
I've switched the site over into "Season 23 Mode" but we still don't have a timeline for any of our usual offseason activities. I'll try to get that sorted out ASAP but it's a little chaotic at NSHL HQ right now.
Thanks to everyone for another great season and especially to Brian Stewart and the Fort Worth Fighting Squirrels for a hard-fought Herb Brooks Memorial Trophy Finals.
With the playoffs wrapped, voting for our end-of-season awards is now open via the GM Tools. As per usual, award voting is a required action.
This officially happened yesterday but I'm happy to formally announce Sam Wright as the new GM of the Ottawa Valley Wolfhounds. Welcome to the NSHL, Sam!
The process of finding a new Wolfhounds GM really revealed some flaws in how our waiting list works. I've got some thoughts on how to fix that, mostly around asking potential GMs to explicitly confirm that they're still interested in joining the league once a year or so, since it can take so long for a team to come up. I'd probably do that over on the DFHL side, too. It's not a high priority, though, so I'm not going to be making those changes anytime soon, I just wanted to give a heads-up.
Voting for the All-Star Game roster is now open and, if our current schedule holds, will remain open until Sunday. Just a reminder, voting is a required action for everyone except for Kevin (as Sault's roster is already set).
Ottawa Valley Wolfhounds general manager Cory Jordan (Gordie) has announced his resignation from the NSHL.
We've got quite a few people on the waiting list and no pending deadlines so I'll start contacting potential replacement GMs shortly and we'll get someone in place to take over the Wolfhounds.
With the Waiver Draft complete, our offseason events are done and we're moving on to play Season 22.
The four-day Exhibition Schedule begins on Wednesday. As per usual, each team will play two games. Assuming we stick to the schedule, that means the exhibitions are done on Saturday.
The Season 22 Entry Draft is complete. All rated, eligible players who were selected have been added to their team rosters. The list of rated, ineligible players is available at https://community.fantasyhockeysim.com/topic/2574-s22-discussion/?do=findComment&comment=24552
Alright, there was no opposition to my second proposed schedule for this offseason so we're rolling with that.
Supplemental Draft: May 14, 6:00 PM
Entry Draft: May 16, 6:00 PM
Valid Roster Deadline: May 19, 12:00 PM
Waiver Draft: May 20, 6:00 PM
After a bit of delay, re-rates are complete.
As previously mentioned, this effectively is just an eligibility check. All players who were deemed NSHL-ineligible for the coming season are listed at the following post:
